A concept worth getting right.
Nationserv was appointed to deliver a complete commercial fit out at The Blossom Room in Milton Keynes, a luxury bar concept later covered in the Milton Keynes Citizen as a 500,000 pound venue.
Nationserv is a UK specialist insurance repair contractor delivering end to end building solutions, including commercial fit out. Both disciplines come down to the same thing: multiple trades, a fixed date, and a client who has to open the doors whatever happens on site.
The scope began with a complete strip out of the existing interior. From there it was a bespoke build: a custom bar designed and constructed in house, a seating area built to match, a full external renovation, and bathrooms taken back to the shell and rebuilt to the same finish standard as the main room. Hospitality is judged on coherence. Customers notice the bar that is not quite square, the lighting that changes room to room, and the bathroom that feels like it belongs to a different building.
A luxury concept on a commercial deadline.
Hospitality openings have a hard date. The press release goes out against it, staff are hired against it, supplier orders are placed against it. The fit out has to land. There is no version of the programme where the venue quietly opens a fortnight later.
That pressure is what usually degrades a fit out. Trades get compressed into the same room at the same time, sequencing goes out of the window, and the finish quality that the whole concept depends on is the first thing to be traded away in the final fortnight.
The answer was to protect the sequence rather than compress it. The bespoke bar was fabricated off site so it was not occupying the room while first fix ran. Rewiring and plumbing went in before any finishes. The bathrooms ran as a parallel stream so they completed alongside the main bar instead of queueing behind it.

A hospitality fit out is several specialist projects running at once. The bar, the seating, the artwork, the electrics, the wet services, the staircase, the bathrooms, the external. Each one has its own trade and its own lead time, and all of them have to finish on the same day.
Complete interior strip out
Existing interior taken out in full before the new build began, returning the space to a workable shell so nothing was built on top of an unknown.
Bespoke bar and seating
Custom bar designed and built in house and fabricated off site, keeping the room clear for other trades. Bespoke seating built to the same specification.
Artwork and floral theme
Bespoke artwork and a floral design theme commissioned and installed throughout, which is what gives the room its identity rather than a generic finish.
Lighting and full rewire
Complete rewire carried out first, with the lighting design installed to it and integrated into the bar and seating areas rather than added over the top.
Plumbing and wet services
All plumbing installed from bar wet services through to the bathroom fit outs, sequenced ahead of finishes so nothing had to be opened up again.
Staircase rebuild
Internal staircase rebuilt with lighting effects integrated into the structure, turning the entrance into a feature rather than a route through.
Bathrooms rebuilt
Bathrooms and toilets stripped out and rebuilt to a finish standard matching the bar room, run as a parallel stream so they did not hold up handover.
External renovation
External renovation and external lighting completed to match the interior identity, so the venue introduces itself correctly from the street.

The Blossom Room opened to its customers and to the press on time and on budget. The Milton Keynes Citizen led its coverage with the 500,000 pound luxury concept and the quality of the finish.
Inside, the room reads as one composition: a bar that sits square, lighting that carries consistently through the space, bathrooms finished to the same standard as the bar itself, and a staircase that works as a feature rather than an afterthought. Outside, the renovation and external lighting introduce the venue properly from the street.
Eight workstreams ran under a single programme with one point of responsibility. That is the whole argument for a single main contractor on a fit out: the trades are sequenced against each other rather than competing for the same room in the last fortnight before an immovable date.
